The fate of women - Djeri Wapondi

Woman, I dream of you naked
I dream of your pretty body sculpted in the perfection of a dream
Despite this pretty and beautiful body,
Why is this world made like this
And why isn't it perfect?

I blame the fate cast on woman
I blame the God for the fate of her soul
He created her modest and charming
But fashioned her with split bottoms forever
And always subject to the whims of man
Know now that life evolves
and you have to show bigger works

Poor creature eternally thus made
No gentleness in your favor nevertheless made
Whatever your efforts at dawn, my sister,
Meagre are your returns in greatness
What have you benefited from this adventure
What bitterness, sadness and wounds
Where is your place in this society
where men reign in majority

Open your heart to conscience
Look at the evolution of science
Do not let yourself be overwhelmed by a man
Show through your works to the man
That we are not born a woman, my sister
We are not born a woman
We become one
And always by rigor, if the morning has made you a vulgar
Be careful in the afternoon to be a model.

Djeri Wapondi (born 1991) Togo
