the god of the machine
in cap and overalls
holds in his hand the secret of the pistons.
In the carriage …
the first-class god
elaborates his schemes in regulated air.
And on the branch-line …
- feet flat against the steel of the coaches -
bursting his lungs
the god of the trolley.
