Offspring of the Distant Word: I - Susy Delgado

In an awakening
it glued itself
to my tongue
it lingered
in my mouth,
an unexpected thing,
the spoken word.
An extremely tender thing
truly good,
a breath from the skies -
what gives us life
in a moment
in the middle of the night.

Susy Delgado (born 1949) Paraguay
