The Dwelling-places of Wisdom and of Unrighteousness (from The book of Enoch) - Anonymous

Wisdom found no place where she might dwell;
Then a dwelling-place was assigned her in the heavens.

Wisdom went forth to make her dwelling among the children of men,
And found no dwelling-place:

Wisdom returned to her place,
And took her seat among the angels.

And unrighteousness went forth from her chambers:
Whom she sought not she found,
And dwelt with them,

As rain in a desert
And dew on a thirsty land.

Note: This section comes from The First Parable, chapter 42. The book of Enoch was not originally written in Ethiopic (Ge'ez language), but the most complete versions of the book are from these translations by unknown Ethipian authors of the 1st century BC from a more ancientn (c. 2nd-3rd century BC) text, possibly orginally Aramaic or Hebrew.
