Who will listen to me - Toyo Mori

"Mama. where are you?
Papa. are you around?"

They are mine.
But am I theirs?
I'm confused.

When I cried. I cried alone,
No father listening to my pain,
No mother wiping my tears.
No brother's hand comforting me.

When I worked. I worked alone,
My brothers playing and eating,
My sisters eating and playing.
My parents' hearts loving them,
Not me.

Somebody, listen to me:
I'm confused.
Somebody, help me.
I'm confused.
Please, somebody, please love me.
Anybody…

No reply…
I must go now,
Find my own way,
Put my mind to rest,
Away from confusion.
Let them know that to be
With them is to be…
