I am different, I told him.
But dear, he said
There isn't nothing special about being different
The world will only jeer at your ache.
You thought you could change the world by omission
But you are like a particle that decays when unobserved
But thrive with my attention,
You are nothing without me.
For a few limitless moments I felt what it was like to be the cosmos
To be the uselessly omnipresent
Hoping peace was balance
Where I beat in all hearts and no one listens.
I knew I should never have listened
To the words you wove so expertly
But hope magnified from gilded words to diamond coated lips
From when the stars whispered.
I was full when I had me at midday
Then you came with injurious breath
And as the first dark fading.
I'm halfway gone.
