Actions - Divya Rainjana Suraindiran

These socks won’t warm you,
and neither will that sweater;
Your sorrow won’t calm you,
and you won’t feel any better.

The trees won’t call you,
if you keep kicking at their roots;
Mother nature won’t help you,
if you keep stomping on her with your boots.

The clangs of metal won’t disappear,
like the mist blowing out of your mouth;
Like human beings they will reappear,
and tell you frankly to go south.

If you wish to save yourself from this pain,
let it be known that you must be kind;
if not, shall all this cold ice remain,
and you’ll understand what you cannot rewind.

Divya Rainjana Suraindiran (21st century) Malaysia
