African Presidents - James O. Gaygay

Your empty promises surge our expectations
We swallow the lies your tongue preached
Our bellies became conceived by your deceits
Frustration, disappointment, and regrets are our sons and daughters
They play in the vicinity of our minds
You poli-tricked our minds with your political games

Retaliation now, is born against your will

We ran from house to house preaching your gospel
Urging our fellow patriots to cast their ballots in your favour;
proclaiming you as the saviour
Now that you sit upon the golden seat
You circumvent the laws

Retaliation now, is born against your will

We give you authorities over the resources of our land;
injustices, violence, unemployment, and economic hardship is what we get
We are going to fight you,
Not with muscles or guns
We are not going to stand in the streets and throw stones
neither are we going to burn tyres or block traffic
You embezzled our birthrights and enshroud yourself behind the presidency

Retaliation now, is born against your will

Our mouths have become poisonous
The words we spit are Venom
We are coming not to grip your heels with our fangs
We will torture your hearts
you will see the difference between black and white
You enrich yourself at the detriment of the poor

Retaliation now, is born against your will

Corruption is a plague,
It scourges the hearts of the land
You took the air and declared war against his deeds
Yet you pave his way into the hearts of the weak
You eat crab without shame; the presidency frown at you in woes
You see accountability and his acquaintances as your worst enemies

Retaliation now, is born against your will
