A Prayer Before Sleep - Cece Oh!

Like the beautiful sunlight, let all my fears scoot away;
As I sleep on my lovely bed, make my worries vanish into thin air.
Make the faintest of my doubts be forever erased;
With Your abundant, endless love, have my terrors effaced.

In the darkness of the night, take away my phantom monsters;
As I close my eyes tonight, make my chicken heart braver.
Zip my mouth when I try to hysterically scream
When it’s already time to face my dreaded bad dream.

Don’t let any pain or numbness bother my way to dreamland;
Let my rest be quiet and peaceful like footsteps on the sand.
Make it possible for me to still smile in my sleep,
Sing me a lullaby for my shut-eye to be comfily deep.

Because when I go to bed tonight, there’s no more staying up all night;
And even if I’m scared of the dark, I can’t turn on the light.
So, please, Lord, just console those who might weep.
You see, the guy in white told me, tonight’ll be my eternal sleep.
