Happy is the man
who does not follow the advice of the wicked,
nor take his stand on the sinner's road,
nor sit at ease among the scornful.
But his delight is in the teaching of the Lord,
reflecting on His teaching day and night.
He is like a tree
planted by streams of water.
It gives its fruit in its season,
its leaf never fades.
Everything he does shall prosper.
It is not like this with the wicked,
for they are like chaff blown by the wind.
Therefore the wicked shall not withstand the judgment.
nor sinners stand in the company of the just.
For the Lord watches over the way of the just,
but the way of the wicked is doomed.
