Silence - Hermann von Gilm zu Rosenegg

When in heaven, bolts are ready
And the lightning clouds are gathered,
Walkers then are striding quickly
And to nests the birds are flying,
Comes the silence.

When the flowers pure and pious
Sink on bended knees to worship,
And the heavens, oh so slowly,
With a thousand eyes are opened,
Comes the silence.

When the heart has reached decision
Evermore forgetful Lethe
Must be poured on all the flowers
That were sown in spring's elation,
Comes the silence.

Hermann von Gilm zu Rosenegg (1812 - 1864) Austria
