Judgement - Timwa Lipenga

She stood before them
And was judged:
Thin, loose limbs
Meant she was loose
Wispy, flyaway hair
Meant she was a fly-by night
So they said.
And as for that wild look in her eyes
Oh it meant she was wild.
And those scars around her lips
Meant she had wounded people in her time
So they judged and judged and judged,
In their infinite wisdom they judged.

Timwa Lipenga (born c. 1975) Malawi
