Love simple and pure - Juste Olivier

I love you, so sweetly dressed
In tenderness and love;
To sit with you, I'm blessed
As one from heaven above.
A breath as soft as rain
You breathe upon my pain,
And in the smiling air
My Eden flowers there.

I feel, like one soft tear,
Love bathing all my heart,
While all things, far and near,
One charm to it impart.
This oak where you recline,
This wave, these meadows fine,
Are they not happy too,
Happy with us two?

Here are the flowers adored
Of the bird of the green bowers,
Charmed by his songs outpoured
With love, in his happy hours.
But you, white anemone,
The crown of my melody,
My love and constancy:
All, all has come from thee.

The happiness I take
From one ray of your eyes
Leads me where dreams awake,
Calm, in sweet paradise.
In you my life takes flight,
Transformed, a new delight:
Less immense and less pure
Is the ocean's azure.
