Pay attention when it comes - Caroline Anande Uliwa

In the ring of romantic love
There’s a new language
Symbolism with great vantage

So pay attention when it comes
At first sight
My body asks, Can I admit you in my arms?
Mould your skin to my touch
Or will I need some punch

Pay attention when it comes
That first kiss
Do I want to accept the lingering?
Of mating lips
Am I gorging your passion at my speed?
Or are we saying hello in need
To discern our way of being our merge of chi

Pay attention when it comes
Introduction to his friends
Is he measuring you up?
Is she proud enough to withstand
Me publicly holding her hand?

Pay attention when it comes
Introduction to her family
Mmm m m halleluya!
Before you go thinking its new year
Time for ‘ana meremeta’
You better look closer
Understand the dossier of who you’re dating

Pay attention when it comes
That first fight
Are you choking or letting out steam
Is she listening or exerting screams
And the makeup is it in team?

Pay attention when it comes
Love,
Sneaking on you like a drug
Skin to skin, you feel so snug
No warning of side effects
The we’re ONE defect

For no sista; you’re not one with anyone but the creator
And she gave you free will to detect him
In your being; so here after
Love whilst paying attention
