Legends - Chaman Lall

The bronze of his body
Flashed through the marble hall
When the Egyptian danced to music.
Leaning idly against a pillar,
With shy meaning hidden in her looks,
She gazed upon the bronze of his body.

Guard well your secret:
O keen-eyed picturesque lady!
There are ancient legends in your looks.

(Diwan) Chaman Lall (1892 – ca.1973) India (lived in England for a while)
