Air Pollution - Adrianna Ennelinda Pedro

Oh, my dearest, beautiful Tuvalu,
Bicycles are seen less and less on your roads every day,
And your people walk less and less every day,
And more and more gases polluting your air every day,
Therefore your people breathe dirtier and dirtier air every day,
And more and more sickness comes their way every day.
The ozone layer is growing thinner and thinner every day,
And your heat is growing hotter and hotter every day
Making the lives of your people bitter and bitter every day.

Tuvalu, you are our homeland for every and ever,
Your people must use less and less cars and motorcycles every day,
And less and less gases will pollute the air every day.
Then your people will breathe cleaner and cleaner air every day,
And they will grow healthier and healthier every day,
And so people walk and walk more, and cycle and cycle more
The ozone layer will grow thicker and thicker every day,
And the heat will become less and less hot every day
Making life in Tuvalu better and better,
And sweeter and sweeter every day.

Hey, my people, no pollution:
Save the ozone layer and Tuvalu.

  1. Talofa from Tuvalu. I am The Adrianna Pedro and I do remember this poem. It was 2019 when I presented it. But, I wasn't born in 1999. I was born in 2007. Thank you!

    1. Dear Adrianna thank you so much for commenting (and setting me straight on birth date). I always try to find a contact email for (living) poets, but couldn't find one for you; so forgive me if I wasn't able to contact you about the poem.
