As always me
farmer, peasant, kunukeru
admiring the annual growth rings
in the cross section cut of a tree trunk
far away today
I am confronted daily
with autumnal days
one foot in the winter season
but love, loneliness and death
are triumphant
as the ‘Drie gebroeders’ on Korsou

physically weak
embedded in a strong spirit

Drie gebroeders (Three brothers) - three hills on Curaçao (Korsou), remains of a coral reef that was formed at least three million years ago and has risen far above sea level through volcanic activity.
