The myth of the streets - Tarik Sujat

Bearing countless tyre tracks on its chest
The songs of this city will cease one day.

In dazzling midday sun,
dropped feathers of birds
lying on the tarred-streets
will croon the fact:
once, here, in this city of peace,
besides men
birds did dwell.

Alas!
Birds dived into extinction
in the blue waters of eternity;
a group of doctrinaire men
keep looking for the magic key
to urban civilization
in desolate barren stretches.
