A City with the Charm A Thousand Beloved - Bouchra Yassine

I am from there
Where quince blossom and chaos presides
Lasting peace ...
The tongues of sun embrace you
The scent of bramble is there ...
Thyme and sage and I am
From there.
Here start the eternal order of things
And the clock ticking ...
The heart ... and time
The line of the end.
I am from there ...
Where Eid cakes ...
And the smell of oven lulls you
The gossip of passers-by
And again ...
She passes her hands through your hair
Tales from the orange orchards
Pickled olives
And my mother.
Here ...
The eternal order of things
The clock ticking
And time ... and my heart ...
And the Line of the end.
