It is not necessary - Chu Hsi

It is not necessary to go out of one's way to get rid of the natural mind;
it needs only that the spiritual mind shall rule.

That is, if the natural mind is to be rendered powerless to play the robber,
it must be by the spiritual mind.

But this is exceedingly difficult to secure,
so sudden and rapid are the movements of human desire.
