Mimesis - Giampiero Neri

From the shapes and lines
one notes on butterfly wings
and in diverse other species,
decoration and defence go together,
similar to circles and designs
also called painted eyes,
being a sort of mimetic code
of God’s imaginary eye watching.

Giampiero Neri (born 1927) Italy
